Job Title: Commis Chef – Japanese Cuisine

Job Summary
The Commis Chef – Japanese Cuisine supports the kitchen team in the preparation and presentation of Japanese dishes while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of Japanese dishes such as sushi, sashimi, ramen, tempura, and hot kitchen items as assigned
- Follow standard recipes, portion control, and presentation guidelines
- Prepare mise en place efficiently to support daily kitchen operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work station at all times
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of food items in line with HACCP standards
- Assist senior chefs during service to ensure timely and consistent food output
- Minimize food wastage and report spoilage or shortages to senior kitchen staff
- Comply with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations at all times
- Adhere to company policies, grooming standards, and kitchen SOPs
Requirements & Qualifications
- Basic culinary education or training preferred
- Previous experience in a Japanese restaurant or Asian kitchen is an advantage
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
- Physically fit to stand for long hours

Pay: From AED3,500.00 per month
