Summery:

  • Lead end-to-end commercial governance and execution for assigned service agreements and projects (e.g., LTSA/CPA, outages and restorations), ensuring profitability, cash collection, contractual compliance, and stakeholder alignment across Customers, TGO/Japan HQ, and internal functions (Finance, Procurement, Projects Management, Engineering, Legal).

Key Responsibilities

1) Commercial Strategy & Profitability

  • Own commercial strategy for assigned accounts/projects to achieve the targeted revenue, cost recovery, and risk-balanced decisions.
  • Lead pricing strategy (mark-ups, discounts, escalation), ensuring alignment with management direction and governance.
  • Develop commercial scenarios and recommendations (e.g., CPA optimization, interval extension impact, discount trade-offs).

2) Contract & Claims Management

  • Manage contract administration and project agreements, ensuring compliance with terms (scope, DoR, variations, LDs, warranty, tax/VAT).
  • Draft/review key contractual correspondence (LOIs, settlement letters, escalation letters, dispute notices, reservation of rights).

3) Customer Interface & Negotiation

  • Act as main commercial focal point with customer procurement and leadership; drive timely resolution for PO issuance, invoicing, and payment collection.
  • Lead negotiation of commercial settlements for emergent works (e.g., restoration, emergency procurement, SABER/COC constraints).
  • Conduct executive-level communication, meeting preparation, and MoM follow-ups.

4) Governance, Approvals & Compliance

  • Prepare and present management approvals, ensuring robust business case, risk assessment, and financial justification.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls: PR/PO discipline, WBS linkage, cost booking accuracy, segregation of duties, audit readiness.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Finance, and Compliance on contentious topics and approvals.

5) Financial Planning, Cashflow & Reporting

  • Own project financials: revenue recognition inputs, cost forecasts, cashflow planning, AR aging follow-up, and margin analysis.
  • Provide monthly forecast updates (sales plan, backlog, risks/opportunities) and 10/25-year business view when required.
  • Drive closure of projects/commercial items and ensure lessons learned captured.

6) Procurement & Vendor Commercial Support

  • Lead commercial support for local procurement: vendor evaluation, quotation review, PO terms, payment milestones, and claims.
  • Coordinate vendor registration, SABER/COC impacts, and contract terms to enable on-time delivery.
  • Ensure transparency and documentation for customer back-charge negotiations while protecting sensitive internal cost structures.

7) Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and coach commercial engineers/specialists; assign priorities, review deliverables, and ensure quality.
  • Build cross-functional alignment with PM/Engineering/Operations to prevent scope creep and protect margin.
  • Drive continuous improvement in templates, playbooks, negotiation strategy, and internal workflows.

Authority & Decision Rights (Typical)

  • Recommend commercial positions for management approval (discounts, mark-ups, settlement terms, claims).
  • Approve commercial deliverables within delegated authority (per DOA matrix).
  • Sign/issue customer correspondence and internal approvals as per delegation.

  • External: Aramco/IPPs (Procurement, Plants, CSD/MSSD), EPCs.
  • Internal: TGO/Japan HQ, Finance, Procurement, PM, Engineering, Operations, Legal, QHSE, Factory, Compliance.

  • Cash collection
  • Margin performance: NP/GM vs plan, cost recovery on variations/claims.
  • SO cycle efficiency and governance compliance.
  • Timely closure of commercial items and project close-outs.
  • Stakeholder satisfaction (customer and internal HQ alignment).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Law, or equivalent (Master’s preferred).
  • 8-15+ years commercial/contracts experience in power/energy/O&G services/projects.
  • Strong understanding of contract law concepts, pricing, cost structure, and financial modelling.
  • Experience with Aramco-style procurement/contracts and high-stakes negotiations.
