NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) is a joint venture between ACWA Power, Air Products, and NEOM that is developing a large-scale green hydrogen production facility in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The project is designed to produce green hydrogen and green ammonia using renewable energy, supporting the global transition toward more sustainable energy solutions.
Position Overview
NEOM Green Hydrogen Company is seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to support the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of civil infrastructure for its green hydrogen and green ammonia production facilities. This role works closely with multidisciplinary engineering, construction, procurement, and operations teams to help deliver high-quality infrastructure while supporting project objectives, applicable engineering standards, and health, safety, and environmental requirements.
The successful candidate will oversee civil engineering activities related to plant foundations, roads, drainage systems, buildings, utility networks, and other supporting infrastructure throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and coordinate civil and structural engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and technical calculations.
- Supervise civil construction activities to help ensure work is completed in accordance with approved engineering designs, project specifications, and quality requirements.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress, workmanship, and material quality.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, process, and other engineering disciplines throughout project execution.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and contractor performance, and report on project progress.
- Identify and resolve technical issues affecting construction activities and recommend appropriate engineering solutions.
- Review contractor submittals, method statements, shop drawings, and other technical documentation.
- Support compliance with applicable Saudi regulations, engineering standards, project specifications, and environmental requirements.
- Prepare engineering reports, progress updates, technical documentation, and risk assessments.
- Support commissioning activities and the successful handover of completed civil works to operations teams.
- Promote safe work practices and support compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve construction efficiency, quality, sustainability, and cost effectiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional engineering registration or chartered status is considered an advantage.
- Experience in industrial, energy, oil and gas, petrochemical, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects is preferred.
- Proficiency with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, or similar applications.
- Knowledge of engineering design principles, construction practices, quality management systems, and applicable international standards.
- Familiarity with project management principles and construction contract administration.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams within a dynamic project environment.
