Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive In-House Civil Engineer to oversee construction, renovation, maintenance, and regulatory compliance activities for healthcare and commercial facilities in Sharjah. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of UAE building regulations, healthcare facility requirements, government approval processes, and project management. The candidate will serve as the primary liaison with government authorities, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and in compliance with all applicable regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management & Execution
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise construction, fit-out, renovation, and maintenance projects.
- Review architectural, structural, MEP, and interior drawings for compliance and constructability.
- Monitor project progress, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure adherence to approved drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and project teams.
Regulatory Approvals & Compliance
- Manage approvals and permits from:
- Sharjah Municipality
- Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (where applicable)
- Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD)
- Sharjah Civil Defense
- Sharjah Electricity, Water & Gas Authority (SEWA)
- Department of Town Planning & Survey
- Healthcare regulatory authorities (MOHAP, DHA, DOH where applicable)
- Ensure compliance with healthcare facility guidelines, building codes, fire safety regulations, accessibility standards, and environmental requirements.
- Coordinate inspections and obtain completion certificates, NOCs, and approvals.
Healthcare Facility Development
- Coordinate hospital, medical center, clinic, wellness center, and healthcare facility projects.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare design standards and authority requirements.
- Review layouts for patient flow, accessibility, infection control, safety, and operational efficiency.
Maintenance & Facility Management
- Conduct periodic facility assessments and recommend improvements.
- Manage preventive and corrective maintenance works.
- Oversee civil repairs, modifications, and infrastructure upgrades.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare technical reports, project updates, BOQs, and cost estimates.
- Maintain project records, approvals, permits, contracts, and technical documentation.
- Assist management with project planning, budgeting, and decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer certification is an advantage.
- UAE driving license (Mandatory).
- Membership in a recognized engineering body is preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5–8 years of UAE experience in civil engineering and project management.
- Experience in hospitals, medical centers, healthcare facilities, wellness centers, or commercial developments is highly preferred.
- Strong experience dealing with Sharjah government authorities and approval processes.
- Experience managing contractors, consultants, and fit-out projects.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of UAE building regulations and healthcare facility standards.
- Familiarity with Sharjah Municipality, SEWA, Civil Defense, and government approval procedures.
- Proficiency in:
- AutoCAD
- MS Project
- Microsoft Office Suite
- BOQ preparation and cost estimation
- Ability to review engineering drawings and technical submissions.
Pay: From AED5,000.00 per month
