Role
Purpose:
A Category Specialist for Seats and Pedestals will leverage sales expertise in these industries to drive business growth and achieve revenue targets for commercial seating solutions and support systems. These include but are not limited to marine seats, pedestals, and related components. The specialist will collaborate closely with clients and suppliers to align strategies and effectively meet company objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
Build and maintain strong relationships with designers, naval architects, boat builders, marine contractors, and construction firms to secure projects involving seats, pedestals, and related accessories. Â Identify and engage new end-user customers to establish long-term agreements, coordinating key supply and installation processes. Â Analyze project documents to draft accurate seating and pedestal schedules, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Â Stay updated on industry trends to demonstrate products to customers and identify potential projects and market opportunities.
Conduct product training for naval architects and specifiers to enhance integration of seating and pedestal solutions. Â Deliver effective sales presentations to address customer needs and increase product awareness. Â Provide expert advice on product selection and application to boost sales in marine and construction sectors. Â Communicate sales insights to drive growth in seats and pedestals categories. Â Maintain CRM records and generate sales forecasts for management.
Collaborate internally to streamline project processes and ensure
customer satisfaction
. Â Identify case study opportunities and collaborate with marketing for
promotion
. Â Stay informed about industry regulations, customer preferences, and competitor activities to adapt strategies. Â Coordinate projects, tenders, and technical support with suppliers and internal teams.

Required Qualifications:
Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, with strong
project management
skills. Â ERP software knowledge. Â Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications. Â Strong ability to interpret marine architectural drawings and building plans. Â Technical aptitude for mechanical products, especially in seats and pedestals.
Required Experience:
5+ years of experience in the seats, pedestals, or related industries.
Proven track record
in sales growth, key account management, and business development in marine and related sectors. Â Excellent relationship-building skills with architects, developers, and marine contractors.
