Position: Category Manager (Accessories/Routers)
The Category Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing sourcing suppliers across various functional locations.
Accountability & Responsibilities of Role:
Product Scout: Find the best products for our stores by monitoring quality, price, and trends. Your choices will directly impact what our customers see on the shelves.
Stock Strategist: Monitor and manage stock levels to prevent ‘out of stock’ situations. Initiate inter-store movements and ensure inventory aligns with sales.
Deal Maker: Negotiate with suppliers, including OEMs and third-party vendors, to secure the best deals and promotions, ensuring competitive prices and value for customers.
Inventory Manager: Oversee stock aging, collaborate with procurement and warehouse teams to return slow-moving products, and prevent excess stock.
Forecasting Pro: Work with the sales team to forecast demand, avoiding shortages and ensuring smooth operations.
Display Designer: Manage visual merchandising and prepare planograms to display products appealingly.
Data Keeper: Maintain accurate records of inventory, sales, and orders; present data regularly for informed decision-making.
Team Player: Support the team in achieving store targets by providing necessary resources, from stock to promotions.
Position Requirements:
At least 4+ years of experience in category management, product management, or retail buying, preferably in electronics, telecom, or related industries, with solid inventory management and procurement experience.
5+ years of experience in category management, product management, or retail buying, preferably within kids, stationery, toys, or related sectors.
Strong analytical skills to interpret sales data, market trends, and customer insights for data-driven decisions.
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and inventory management software; familiarity with data and technology.
Understanding of e-commerce and retail dynamics; experience with online platforms is highly desirable.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
