We are seeking an experienced Bird Breeder with a strong background in the care and breeding of macaws, cockatoos, and various parrots. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a zoo or a similar environment and a deep understanding of avian health and breeding techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily care and maintenance of our avian population.
- Oversee breeding programs and maintain detailed records of breeding data.
- Monitor the health and well-being of all birds, including administering medications and treatments as needed.
- Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure optimal health.
- Educate and guide junior staff in avian care best practices.
- Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of avian enclosures.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Bird Breeder, specifically with macaws, cockatoos, and parrots.
- Knowledge of avian health, nutrition, and breeding practices.
- Experience in a zoo, aviary, or similar setting.
- Strong observational and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle birds safely and comfortably.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
