Atlanta Training Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Automotive Diagnostic Trainer to oversee and deliver our automotive training programs.
In this role, you will lead both our foundational entry-level course. Additionally, as vehicle technology evolves, you will play a key role in developing future curriculum modules in emerging areas such as Electric Vehicles (EV/HEV), Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and ECU Flashing.
Key Responsibilities;
- Teach foundational automotive mechanics, workshop safety, fluids, and basic maintenance to entry-level trainees.
- Instruct experienced technicians on advanced electrical troubleshooting (parasitic draw, voltage drop, wiring schematics, relays, fuses).
- Guide students through full OBD-II diagnostic modes (1–10), CAN/LIN network protocols, PID graphing, and bidirectional control tools.
- Set up simulated real-world fault insertion exercises across engine management, ignition, fuel, and emission control systems (EVAP, EGR, Catalytic Converters).
- Assess student performance through practical examinations, theoretical tests, and diagnostic flow-chart evaluations.
- Assist in expanding course offerings to include advanced topics such as ADAS calibration, EV/Hybrid high-voltage safety, and module programming.
Required Qualifications & Experience;
- Experience: Minimum 7–10+ years of hands-on experience as a Master Diagnostic Technician, Automotive Systems Engineer, or Master Mechanic in a professional workshop or dealership environment.
- Electrical & Networking Mastery: Mastery of complex automotive electrical schematics, multimeter testing, digital storage oscilloscopes (DSO), and vehicle network diagnostics (CAN bus, LIN, ISO).
- Scan Tool Proficiency: Deep expertise in OEM and aftermarket diagnostic software/scan tools (e.g., Snap-on, Bosch, Launch, Autel, Ross-Tech).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
