Position Overview
The Assistant Financial Controller will support the Financial Controller in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. This role is ideal for a driven finance professional who is ready to step into a leadership-focused position and contribute to strategic financial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing daily accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, and reconciliations
- Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes
- Monitor compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Review financial data and provide analysis to support decision-making
- Strengthen internal controls and identify process improvement opportunities
- Coordinate with auditors and support internal and external audit processes
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS preferred)
- Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an advantage
- Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership abilities
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to manage deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
