Agricultural Engineer – Green Areas, Irrigation & Environmental Management
Department: Operations / Facilities
Reports To: Management / Operations Manager
Location: Dubai
Job Purpose
The Agricultural Engineer will be responsible for the overall management and maintenance of Al Rawabi’s green areas, trees, landscaping, water irrigation management, pest control, waste management, and odor-control activities. This role will ensure that the company’s outdoor and environmental areas are maintained to high standards of cleanliness, safety, hygiene, appearance, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all company green areas, lawns, trees, plants, and landscaping.
- Develop and supervise routine and seasonal landscaping and plant-maintenance activities.
- Monitor the health of trees and plants and arrange appropriate pruning, fertilization, treatment, and replacement.
- Manage and monitor irrigation systems, ensuring proper water distribution, efficient consumption, and timely repair of leaks or damaged systems.
- Identify opportunities for water conservation, irrigation efficiency, and responsible water usage.
- Monitor soil condition, plant nutrition, fertilizers, and other agricultural requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections for pests, insects, plant diseases, and other agricultural problems and implement appropriate control measures.
- Coordinate pest-control activities and ensure safe handling, storage, and application of pesticides and chemicals.
- Manage general waste, landscaping waste, and other related waste, ensuring proper collection, segregation, storage, recycling, and disposal.
- Monitor company premises for unpleasant odors, identify sources, and implement appropriate preventive and corrective measures.
- Coordinate with relevant departments and approved contractors for pest control, waste management, irrigation, landscaping, and odor-control activities.
- Supervise gardeners, landscaping workers, agricultural workers, and contractors as required.
- Ensure all activities comply with company HSE, hygiene, environmental, and operational requirements.
- Maintain records of irrigation, water consumption, landscaping, pest control, waste management, odor-control activities, and maintenance work.
- Prepare regular reports and provide recommendations to management for improvements, maintenance requirements, and cost reduction.
- Ensure proper availability and control of tools, equipment, fertilizers, chemicals, plants, irrigation materials, and other required resources.
- Support the company’s initiatives related to environmental protection, sustainability, water conservation, waste reduction, and improvement of the overall site environment.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agriculture, Horticulture, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in landscaping, irrigation, agricultural operations, pest control, waste management, or environmental management.
- Good knowledge of plant and tree care, irrigation systems, fertilizers, soil management, and pest-control practices.
- Experience supervising workers and coordinating contractors is preferred.
- Good communication, planning, reporting, and problem-solving skills.

Pay: AED7,000.00 – AED9,000.00 per month
