Job Purpose:

The Zakat & Tax Lead is responsible for managing all Zakat and tax compliance activities, ensuring adherence to the regulations issued by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA). The role oversees the preparation, review, and submission of tax returns, manages tax audits, provides tax advisory support to the business, and identifies opportunities to optimize tax processes while ensuring full regulatory compliance.

The candidate will serve as a key liaison between RUA and tax authorities, managing tax and zakat audits, resolving discrepancies, and promoting a clear understanding of zakat and tax requirements across the organization. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding RUA’s financial integrity, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mitigating tax-related risks.

Responsibilities

  • Managing Tax Audit by GAZT
  • Monthly, quarterly, and yearly closure activities
  • Maintain Zakat and Tax Reporting:
  • Monitor closely the Zakat and tax accruals accounts on monthly basis to book the correct provision on time
  • Reviewing the monthly Withholding Tax and VAT
  • Maintain the same efficiency to file the returns ahead of time and avoid any delay fines
  • Stay current with the changing in tax, zakat and VAT laws by checking the ZATCA website regularly.
  • Answer all the queries from authority in timely manners
  • Review monthly, quarterly and yearly draft submission draft return before submitting to ZATCA.
  • Establish regular reporting mechanisms with Finance stakeholders to ensure that corrective action is being taken at the earliest opportunity
  • Maintains register of non-compliant suppliers and customers to follow up on outstanding
  • Follow all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Prepare accurate and timely functional deliverables and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or any related field.
  • +5 years of experience in Zakat and taxation.
  • Experience dealing directly with ZATCA audits and assessments.
  • Experience in real estate, construction, or large corporate organizations is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Oracle Fusion or SAP
