Yard Engineering Lead Offshore Megaproject | Major Oil & Gas Operator | Qatar
A leading operator is seeking a Yard Engineering Lead to support the delivery of one of the world’s largest offshore energy developments. This position is a key site-based engineering interface role, working at the fabrication yard to ensure seamless execution of construction and commissioning activities.
Location: Qatar
Start Date: May 2025
Contract Type: Role will begin on 12/2 rotation single status. Potential in the future to move to residential.
Role Overview:
Provide engineering support during fabrication and commissioning phases, ensuring design intent and technical requirements are achieved on site.
Review contractor technical queries and red-line mark-ups to support accurate as-building of deliverables.
Act as a key technical liaison between engineering design offices and yard construction teams.
Ensure adherence to project standards, including change management, HAZIDs, FATs/SATs, and handover procedures.
Interface with multidisciplinary stakeholders (mechanical, piping, structural, E&I, ICSS, telecom) to resolve field issues and ensure timely engineering deliverables.
Candidate Requirements:
Degree-qualified engineer (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).
Minimum 8 years experience on major offshore oil and gas projects.
Proven experience providing engineering oversight in fabrication yards or offshore construction sites.
Strong knowledge across key disciplines: mechanical, piping, structural, E&I, telecom.
Experience with design reviews, management of change, technical deviation processes, and commissioning support.
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate across teams and disciplines.
