Job Overview
The Site WHS Officer will partner with a site operations team in a delivery station to execute company safety policies and ensure compliance with all applicable local and regional regulations. Leveraging lean principles and kaizens, the officer will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk, ensuring a safe and healthful environment for Associates.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with all applicable Amazon WHS standards and policies.
- Measure site performance against published safety requirements, identify deficiencies, and develop plans for corrective action.
- Deliver timely and quality projects to Operations.
- Analyze safety metrics, review incident trends weekly and monthly, and allocate resources to high risk areas.
- Ensure proper incident investigation and closure of corrective and preventive actions.
- Perform frequent site safety audits to identify non compliance equipment and processes.
- Implement solutions to eliminate exposure to risks and prevent injury.
- Audit record keeping practices and ensure entries align with global WHS standards and local regulations.
- Audit workplace organization and Associate behaviors to maintain accurate, consistent training, auditing, and scoring.
- Lead and mentor Safety Associates during peak periods.
- Spend time at the delivery station, soliciting input from safety teams, Associates, and leaders, and maintaining open communication on progress and resolutions.
Qualifications
- Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.
- Experience in a workplace health & safety (WHS) related field.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- NEBOSH or IOSH certified.
- Flexibility to work in shifts.
