Job Summary
The Well Test Supervisor leads the well test crew at the wellsite, taking full responsibility for safe, efficient, and technically accurate execution of surface well testing operations, and acts as the primary point of coordination between the crew, client representatives, and company management.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise rig-up/rig-down and full-cycle operation of surface well testing equipment on location.
- Lead JSA and toolbox talks; enforce HSE compliance for the crew and equipment on site.
- Perform and verify necessary flow, pressure, and volumetric calculations for the job.
- Coordinate and direct the activities of Well Test Operators/Service Operators during all phases of the job.
- Liaise directly with client company representatives and engineers on test objectives, well conditions, and results.
- Review and quality-check well test reports before submission to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Mentor, train, and evaluate junior operators; ensure crew competency and certification currency.
- Ensure equipment is maintained, calibrated, and job-ready in accordance with API 6A, NACE MR0175, and other applicable industry standards.
- Manage wellsite logistics, materials, and consumables in coordination with base/warehouse.
- Escalate technical or safety issues to base management/client promptly.
- Ensure full compliance with company and client HSE-MS requirements at all times.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, or related) preferred; extensive field experience can substitute.
- 5–10+ years' total oilfield services experience, with 3+ years specifically in well testing, including prior experience as Senior/Chief Operator.
- Strong knowledge of well testing/production equipment, flow-rate calculations, and industry standards (API 6A, DNV 2.7-1, NACE MR0175).
- Proven crew leadership and client-facing coordination skills.
- Valid/transferable Iqama; willing to work extended rotations in remote/desert locations across the Kingdom.
- Strong report-writing and QA/QC discipline for well test documentation.
- Fluent English (spoken and written); Arabic an advantage for client liaison.
