Role Summary
The Warehouse Manager oversees the overall management of warehouse activities, ensuring end‑to‑end control of receiving, storage, issuance, and the transfer of materials between factories and job sites. The role assures inventory accuracy, staff supervision, logistics coordination, safety and quality compliance, and the effective use of ERP and warehouse management tools.
The position harmonizes procedures across all locations, optimizes racking and storage space utilization, and ensures timely material availability to support production and project execution across all Al Abbar Group warehouses, with the main warehouse located in Jebel Ali.
Key Responsibilities
Operations and Inventory Control
- Oversee daily warehouse operations ensuring smooth flow and timely expediting during receiving, storing, picking, staging, packing, and shipping activities.
- Plan material receiving at dedicated warehouse location and ensure timely inventory inputs and warehouse location movements.
- Receive, inspect, and verify materials against delivery notes, POs, drawings, and specifications; enforce acceptance procedures and issue NCRs for non‑conforming materials.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and protection of materials to prevent damage or loss.
- Maintain stock levels within approved parameters and conduct periodic physical verifications, including detailed year-end inventory counts.
- Implement and maintain inventory methods to minimize carrying costs and prevent stockouts or overstocking.
- Monitor minimum stock thresholds and trigger replenishment with Procurement in advance.
Coordination and Logistics
- Coordinate with Procurement, Logistics, Production, and Project/Site teams on material status, priorities, and expediting.
- Schedule, coordinate, and track inbound and outbound shipments with vendors and carriers; resolve logistics issues; ensure timely dispatches to project sites and subcontractors.
- Control material issuance to production teams and project sites based on approved requests and planning requirements; ensure all movements are properly documented and digitally recorded.
Space, Safety and Standards
- Optimize racking and storage space utilization; apply lean principles and technology to improve picking, staging, and shipping efficiency.
- Maintain housekeeping, safety, security, and QHSE standards across all warehouse areas; ensure compliance with company procedures.
- Lead the coordinated scrapping and disposal process with relevant stakeholders.
Leadership and Performance
- Lead, mentor, and train warehouse and store staff; standardize procedures across locations.
- Develop and maintain warehouse policies and operational guidelines; drive continuous improvement.
- Track warehouse team KPIs such as productivity, accuracy, and on‑time delivery; provide feedback and corrective actions for improvement.
Reporting
- Prepare regular reports on stock movements, shortages, damages, and slow/non‑moving items; provide actionable insights for replenishment and optimization in line with company business objectives.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 15–20 years of experience in storekeeping or warehouse management within construction/manufacturing environments; Middle East experience preferred.
- Façade manufacturing experience is an advantage.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems and inventory control software.
- Proficiency in computer tools (Excel and reporting tools).
- Strong leadership, problem‑solving, analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and coordinate effectively across multiple sites, departments, and locations.
