Role Overview
We are looking for a Waiter with core responsibility to provide excellent customer service in a dining establishment by taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring customer satisfaction. They act as the primary point of contact between the restaurant and its patrons, requiring strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming guests and presenting menus, seating them at tables.
- Accurately recording food and drink orders, often using a POS system, and communicating them to the kitchen.
- Delivering orders to the correct tables, ensuring accuracy and presentation.
- Checking on guests throughout their meal, addressing any issues or requests, and ensuring satisfaction.
- Suggesting specials or additional items to enhance the dining experience and increase sales.
- Processing payments – cash, credit cards, making change, and closing out checks.
- Clearing tables, resetting them for the next guests, and ensuring the dining area is clean and organized.
- Collaborating with kitchen and other service staff to ensure smooth operations and timely service.
- Following health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and hygiene practices.
- May include tasks like rolling silverware, stocking supplies, and preparing for service.
Waiters also handle payments, maintain a clean dining area, and collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members.
