We are seeking a highly experienced VTS Supervisor to oversee and manage Vessel Traffic Services operations, ensuring the highest standards of maritime safety, efficiency, and compliance.

About the Role

Supervise and manage daily VTS operations and personnel.

Qualification : the VTS supervisor shall have:

  • a) Minimum Master certificate “class-I” with sailing experience of at least 12 months as Master on
  • Merchant Marine vessels.
  • b) Previous VTS and/or Pilot experience is preferred.
  • c) Recognized IALA VTS Supervisor advancement training C-103/2.
  • d) The qualification and training of Vessel Tra ic Service personnel shall meet the minimum
  • standards prescribed under IMO Resolution A.1158(32), Guidelines for Vessel Tra ic Services,
  • and any amendments or successor instruments thereto, and shall be interpreted as mandatory
  • compliance requirements for all personnel performing VTS duties.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe and efficient vessel traffic flow within the VTS area
  • Oversee VTS Operators and ensure adherence to procedures and standards
  • Coordinate with port authorities, pilots, marine control, and offshore operations
  • Monitor system performance (Radar, AIS, VHF, CCTV, etc.) and ensure operational readiness
  • Lead emergency response and incident management within the VTS area
  • Ensure full compliance with IALA standards, COLREGs, and local regulations
  • Review reports, logs, and operational data for accuracy and performance improvement
  • Conduct shift planning, manpower allocation, and performance evaluations
  • Provide training, coaching, and competency assessments for VTS staff

  • Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment
