Job Purpose
Manage Black Box venue operations to keep the site safe, guest-ready, and commercially controlled. Implement event and public realm operating plans to deliver reliable live entertainment experiences. Facilitate coordination between operators, contractors, promoters, and local stakeholders to protect SEVEN’s venue standards.
Accountabilities
- Manage venue readiness across opening, closing, safety, cleanliness, maintenance, and service standards to sustain a reliable operating environment.
- Implement event operating plans across pre-production, load-in, show-day delivery, load-out, and close-out to deliver safe and consistent activations.
- Facilitate coordination with promoters, operators, tenants, contractors, agencies, and local authorities to align venue requirements before execution.
- Apply health, safety, fire, crowd management, and emergency response requirements to protect guests, employees, contractors, and SEVEN assets.
- Develop public realm and community activation routines with appointed partners to build local footfall, audience engagement, and venue relevance.
- Manage venue cost, utilization, event performance, and operational reporting to support commercial discipline and informed decision-making.
- Coach on-site staff, contractors, ushers, stewards, and service providers to deliver consistent guest experience and operational standards.
- Apply post-event reviews, incident trends, guest feedback, and readiness data to improve future venue delivery.
- Coordinate with AVL, staging, and rigging crews; oversee installation, rehearsal, and strike schedules in alignment with venue blackout periods and technical readiness.
Managerial Accountabilities:
- Manage daily work priorities for on-site teams and service providers to maintain clear ownership of venue readiness and event delivery.
- Facilitate issue escalation and decision-making during live operations to resolve risks without compromising safety or guest experience.
- Develop team routines, briefing practices, and lessons-learned actions to strengthen operational capability over time.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
KNOWLEDGE
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in venue operations, live events, entertainment facility management, hospitality operations, or a related operating environment.
- Supervisory Experience: Minimum 3 years managing teams, contractors, vendors, or front-line operational staff.
- Industry Experience: Experience in entertainment, hospitality, cultural venues, public realm activation, or large-scale guest operations is preferred.
Professional Certifications:
- Preferred certifications: IOSH, NEBOSH, crowd management, event safety, technical production, or equivalent venue operations certification.
EXPERIENCE
Required Experience:
- Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Venue Operations, Hospitality Management, Performing Arts Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Preferred Qualification: Relevant professional learning in live entertainment, venue operations, crowd management, or guest experience management.
