Role Purpose
Efficiently manage and optimize SABIL’ liquidity, short-term cash positions and cashflow, treasury operations, and long-term funding plan ensuring adherence to financial regulations, fostering strong banking relationships, and driving continuous improvement for sustained financial stability and efficiency.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES:
Treasury Operations and Financial Management
- Manage the optimization of daily cash positions and liquidity, ensuring the efficient utilization of working capital to meet operational requirements with precision.
- Oversee end-to-end management of all payments made by SABIL to suppliers and employees, ensuring adherence to timelines, accuracy, and strict compliance with established internal control guidelines for invoice/payment authorization.
- Develop and maintain robust cash flow forecasting models to provide accurate predictions of future cash requirements, facilitating proactive decision-making.
- Maintain and optimize an efficient workflow system for payments, streamlining processes to enhance operational efficiency within the treasury function.
- Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with banks and financial institutions, fostering open communication and collaboration to enhance SABIL’s financial standing.
- Negotiate advantageous terms for banking services, loans, and credit facilities, leveraging financial expertise to secure advantageous terms to optimize the allocation of financial resources.
- Explore and implement technological solutions to enhance treasury processes, including the integration of treasury management systems for increased efficiency.
- Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in treasury processes, systems, and controls, promoting efficiency and effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization within treasury operations, exploring efficient ways to manage expenses without compromising operational effectiveness.
- Stay abreast of market trends, economic conditions, and industry developments, providing insights to adapt treasury strategies accordingly and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
- Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for treasury operations, regularly assessing and reporting on performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and align with organizational goals.
Working Capital Management
- Implement efficient working capital management practices that effectively support SABIL’ operations.
- Ensure the availability of adequate liquidity to sustain SABIL's day-to-day business operations.
- Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of financial projections for SABIL's short- and medium-term operations.
- Manage trade credit terms with suppliers and negotiate favourable payment terms that align with the organization's working capital objectives.
- Collaborate closely with the Operations department to optimize inventory financing strategies and ensure efficient utilization of working capital.
- Continuously assess and optimize trade credit policies to enhance overall working capital efficiency.
Risk Management and Mitigation
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks within the organization.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of existing risk controls and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish risk mitigation plans and monitor their implementation.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to senior management on risk management strategies and actions to protect the organization's financial assets.
- Ensure compliance with risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Foster a risk-aware culture within the organization by promoting risk awareness and providing training to employees on risk management practices.
Continuous Improvement
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement across all operational units, and continuously seek opportunities for operational enhancements and cost efficiencies.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify and implement operational efficiencies.
- Regularly assess processes, procedures, and systems for opportunities to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required:
Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of extensive experience in treasury, banking, and working capital management, with 3-5 years performing a senior manager role.
Equivalent
- Minimum of 14 years of extensive experience in treasury, banking, and working capital management, with 3-5 years performing a senior manager role.
Education
- A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required.
Equivalent
- Diploma's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required. (Should be 2 years at least)
