Transportation Officer

Job Summary
The Transportation Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all transportation and fleet activities to support construction projects. The role ensures the timely movement of employees, equipment, materials, and vehicles while maintaining compliance with Saudi regulations, safety standards, and company policies. Transportation officers commonly oversee fleet utilization, route planning, vehicle maintenance coordination, and driver management in Saudi construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily transportation operations for project sites, camps, and offices.
- Coordinate the movement of manpower, equipment, materials, and visitors.
- Prepare vehicle deployment schedules according to project requirements.
- Monitor company fleet utilization and optimize transportation resources.
- Supervise drivers and ensure proper assignment of vehicles.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, registration, and insurance renewals.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, fuel consumption, mileage, and maintenance history.
- Ensure all vehicles comply with Saudi regulations and company safety requirements.
- Monitor driver licenses, permits, and documentation validity.
- Coordinate with HR, project teams, procurement, and administration departments for transportation requirements.
- Investigate transportation incidents and prepare reports.
- Control transportation costs and recommend efficiency improvements.
- Monitor GPS tracking systems and driver behavior when applicable.
- Ensure proper documentation and record keeping for audits and management reporting. Transportation roles in Saudi Arabia increasingly include compliance management and performance monitoring responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in transportation, fleet management, logistics, or construction operations.
- Experience in contracting, EPC, infrastructure, industrial, or construction projects is preferred.
- Saudi Arabia experience is an advantage.
