JOB DESCRIPTION
The ideal candidate will coordinate the safe and efficient movement of critical goods (both liquid and dry), ensuring operational excellence, compliance with HSE regulations, and the optimization of logistics costs.
Responsibilities
1. Strategic and operational planning
- Manage and plan voyage programs for chemical tankers (phosphoric acid, ammonia), gas carriers, and dry bulk vessels (urea, phosphates, sulfur).
- Vessel assignment and constant coordination with chartering teams and brokers.
- Optimize freight rates and overall logistics costs.
2. Vessel operational cycle management
- Pre-arrival: nomination of shipping agents, documentation review, verification of cargo compatibility, and issuance of operational instructions.
- In-Port: constant monitoring of loading/unloading operations, management of laytime, and timely resolution of any delays or operational issues.
- Post-operation: verification of demurrage/despatch calculations, cost review, and preparation of performance reporting.
3. Technical cargo management
- Ensure the correct handling of specific products such as phosphoric acid, ammonia, urea, MAP/DAP, and caustic soda.
- Ensure compliance with technical requirements: tank coatings, temperature and pressure control, contamination prevention, and moisture control for dry cargoes.
4. Compliance, safety, and documentation
- Ensure total compliance with international regulations: IMO, IMDG Code, ISGOTT procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Management of critical documentation: Bills of Lading, NOR, Manifests, Certificates of Analysis, SDS/MSDS, and Letters of Credit.
- Proactive management of incidents, spills, and cargo claims.
Requirements and Skills
- Consolidated experience in Shipping Operations, preferably in the Tanker and/or Dry Bulk sectors.
- Deep knowledge of handling dangerous chemical cargoes and fertilizers.
Technical Skills:
- Mastery of Incoterms and Charter Parties.
- Ability to analyze costs (Bunker, port expenses, operational KPIs).
- Fluent English (written and spoken) and Fluent Spanish (written and spoken) are MANDATORY. No applications failing to meet these two requirements will be considered.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving skills under pressure and in emergency contexts.
- Negotiation and multi-stakeholder coordination skills.
- Extreme precision in document management.
