The Maxi Roll Machine Technician is responsible for operating, setting up, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing maxi roll production machines to ensure efficient production of high-quality tissue paper rolls. The technician ensures machines operate safely, minimizes downtime, performs preventive maintenance, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate maxi roll converting and rewinding machines according to production schedules.
- Perform machine adjustments to achieve required product specifications, including roll size, width, length, and winding quality.
- Monitor machine performance and identify any operational issues.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic faults to minimize downtime.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
- Replace worn or damaged machine parts such as bearings, rollers, belts, blades, sensors, and motors.
- Conduct routine inspections and lubrication of machinery.
- Ensure product quality by checking roll dimensions, winding tension, embossing, perforation, and overall finish.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, machine records, and downtime reports.
- Coordinate with the Production and Quality teams to resolve machine-related issues.
- Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards.
- Assist in machine installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
- Train machine operators on proper equipment operation and basic troubleshooting when required.
- Ensure spare parts and maintenance tools are properly maintained and available.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in tissue paper converting or similar manufacturing machinery.
- Experience with maxi roll, rewinder, slitter, embossing, perforation, and converting machines is preferred.
- Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical diagrams.
- Basic understanding of PLC-controlled machinery is an advantage.
Pay: AED3,000.00 – AED3,500.00 per month
