Job Summary
The Tile Mason – Swimming Pool Construction is responsible for the installation, alignment, cutting, grouting, and finishing of ceramic, porcelain, mosaic, and glass tiles for swimming pools, spas, fountains, and other water features. The role ensures all tiling works are completed in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, waterproofing requirements, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install ceramic, porcelain, mosaic, and glass tiles in swimming pools, spas, fountains, and water features.
- Ensure proper alignment, spacing, and levelness of tiles.
- Cut and shape tiles accurately using manual and power tile-cutting tools.
- Lay floor, wall, and coping tiles according to approved shop drawings.
- Prepare concrete and plaster surfaces before tiling.
- Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, level, and suitable for tile installation.
- Apply bonding agents, adhesives, and tile mortar as specified.
- Coordinate with waterproofing teams before commencing tiling works.
- Inspect waterproofed surfaces before tile installation.
- Protect waterproofing membranes from damage during work.
- Report any defects or damage before proceeding.
- Apply grout evenly and clean tile surfaces after installation.
- Seal joints and expansion gaps where required.
- Polish and finish tiled surfaces to a high-quality standard.
- Repair cracked, loose, or damaged tiles.
- Ensure tile layouts comply with project drawings and client specifications.
- Check tile alignment, joint widths, and finishing quality.
- Minimize tile wastage and maintain workmanship standards.
- Handle tiles, adhesives, grout, and finishing materials carefully.
- Store materials safely to prevent damage.
- Report material shortages or defects to the Site Foreman.

- Ensure tools are cleaned and stored after use.
Qualifications
- High School or Technical/Vocational Certificate.
- Trade certification in Masonry or Tiling is an advantage.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience as a Tile Mason.
- At least 2 years of experience in swimming pool construction or water feature projects.
- Experience with mosaic and glass tile installation is preferred.
- GCC/Qatar experience is an advantage.
