Title: QA/QC Engineer (Joinery)
Location: Dubai, UAE
Job Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities:
Perform in-depth dimensional checks of joinery elements on-site to ensure they adhere to the approved shop drawings, including accurate measurements of height, width, depth, and alignment.
Inspect and verify that joinery materials, such as wood, MDF, plywood, veneers, and laminates, meet the required quality standards before installation begins.
Supervise the cutting, machining, and assembly processes of joinery elements on-site, ensuring that all components meet the specified tolerances and finish quality.
Review and validate the correct installation procedures for joinery works, including the proper fixing of doors, windows, panels, cabinets, and other elements, ensuring they are properly aligned, level, and functional.
Ensure that joinery items are installed with correct edge detailing, bonding, and finishes as per design specifications, including lamination, veneering, and lacquer application.
Conduct material performance tests on-site for elements like wood, adhesives, and finishes to ensure their compliance with project specifications (e.g., moisture content, durability, and bonding strength).
Inspect all joinery work for structural integrity, ensuring that installed items are securely fastened and meet load-bearing and functional requirements.
Ensure that all joinery elements on-site, such as doors and windows, operate smoothly and have the required hardware installed (e.g., hinges, locks, handles).
Coordinate with the site team to ensure adhesion to critical tolerances for high-precision work like custom cabinetry or intricate joinery, minimizing any defects or rework.
Review and approve the methodology for installation on-site, ensuring that the joinery installation is carried out as per the approved sequence and in compliance with the project schedule.
Conduct detailed checks for surface imperfections such as cracks, scratches, or defects in joinery elements, ensuring that all products meet the required aesthetic and functional standards.
Ensure that joinery installation follows all relevant standards and codes (e.g., ISO, ASTM, or Dubai Municipality regulations) and maintain records of compliance.
Identify any non-conformance in the materials, methods, or final product, and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) with clear corrective action instructions, ensuring proper follow-up and rectification.
Perform final quality checks on completed joinery installations to confirm they meet design specifications, proper function, and finish quality before client handover.
Work closely with the construction team and subcontractors to troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during the installation or fabrication of joinery items.
Maintain detailed technical records of all inspections, tests, and corrective actions, ensuring a traceable and auditable log of quality assurance activities.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering, Wood Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in QA/QC for joinery, carpentry projects in the construction industry in UAE.
In-depth knowledge of woodworking materials, joinery techniques, finishes, and adhesives.

Pay: AED1,000.00 – AED50,000.00 per month
