Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Techno-Functional Temenos Transact Consultant with 10–15 years of experience in Temenos Transact/T24 implementation, upgrades, migrations, production support, and cutover management.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise across both technical and functional areas, with particular strength in General Ledger (GL), Financial Accounting, Accounting Schemas, COB processing, migration, reconciliation, cutover/runback management, and Transact technical customization.

The role will be based onsite in Qatar and will involve close collaboration with banking stakeholders, technical teams, business users, testing teams, infrastructure/DBA teams, and Temenos/vendor teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cutover & Runback Management

  • Plan, orchestrate, and execute technical and functional cutover activities for Temenos Transact upgrades, migrations, implementations, and module deployments.
  • Develop comprehensive cutover plans, execution schedules, runbooks, and dependency matrices.
  • Formulate robust Runback/Rollback strategies, procedures, and contingency playbooks to ensure business continuity in the event of cutover failure.
  • Lead and manage dry runs, mock cutovers, dress rehearsals, and live go-live cutover activities.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including Infrastructure, DBA, Application Support, Testing, Business Users, Operations, and Vendor/Temenos teams.
  • Track cutover activities, dependencies, risks, issues, and milestones during execution windows.
  • Provide real-time technical and functional decision-making during critical go-live and migration activities.
  • Ensure proper handover from cutover teams to production support and business operations.

2. General Ledger (GL) & Financial Accounting

  • Provide techno-functional leadership for the Temenos Transact GL and Accounting modules.
  • Work extensively with Accounting Schema, CRF, Accounting Entries, Position Management, Chart of Accounts, and related accounting configurations.
  • Lead GL reconciliation, balance migration, legacy GL mapping, Chart of Accounts mapping, and trial balance validation.
  • Validate opening balances and accounting positions during migration and cutover.
  • Troubleshoot complex accounting entry anomalies, out-of-balance conditions, GL discrepancies, and post-migration accounting issues.
  • Analyze accounting flows across relevant Transact modules and downstream financial systems.
  • Support business users and Finance teams in validating accounting results and resolving reconciliation issues.
  • Ensure accounting integrity throughout migration, upgrade, and post-go-live activities.

3. Techno-Functional Consulting & Support

  • Conduct technical and functional analysis of Temenos Transact/T24 requirements and production issues.
  • Perform parameterization, configuration, customization, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Work with TAFJ/TAFC, L3 code, User Exits, Enquiries, Versions, Routines, and Transact development components.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex application and integration issues.
  • Review and troubleshoot COB (Close of Business) processing, batch execution, accounting runs, and GL balance updates.
  • Analyze COB logs to identify processing failures, performance bottlenecks, and application issues.
  • Support performance analysis and optimization of critical Transact processes.
  • Provide L3 technical and functional support for production incidents and business-critical issues.
  • Work with development and support teams to identify root causes and implement permanent fixes.

4. Migration & Reconciliation

  • Support Temenos Transact data migration and upgrade programs, including legacy-to-Transact migration activities.
  • Validate migrated customer, account, balance, GL, and transaction data.
  • Define and execute reconciliation strategies for migrated data.
  • Investigate data mismatches, balance differences, accounting discrepancies, and migration exceptions.
  • Support mock migrations and reconciliation cycles before production cutover.
  • Ensure migration results meet agreed functional, financial, and technical acceptance criteria.

5. Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Collaborate closely with bank stakeholders, Finance, Operations, IT, Business Units, Testing teams, Infrastructure, DBAs, and vendor teams.
  • Provide regular execution status, issue summaries, risk assessments, and mitigation plans to senior management.
  • Coordinate with Temenos and third-party vendors for complex technical and functional issues.
  • Translate business requirements and accounting requirements into appropriate Transact solutions.
  • Participate in technical and functional governance meetings.
  • Provide clear communication during critical implementation, migration, and production events.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with Temenos Transact / T24.
  • Strong techno-functional understanding of Core Banking systems.
  • Extensive experience in Temenos Transact GL and Accounting.

  • Experience in Transact migration, upgrade, implementation, and production support.
  • Strong understanding of banking accounting processes and financial reconciliation.
  • Experience working with databases and analyzing application/COB logs is desirable.

Cutover & Migration Expertise

Candidates should have demonstrated experience in:

  • Core Banking cutover planning and execution.
  • Mock cutover and dress rehearsal management.
  • Go-live planning and command-center coordination.
  • Runback/Rollback planning and execution.
  • Data migration and reconciliation.
  • GL and financial balance migration.
  • Post-cutover validation.
  • Business continuity and contingency planning.
  • Production stabilization following go-live.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working on large-scale Temenos Transact transformation, upgrade, or migration programs.
  • Experience with banking GL and financial accounting transformation.
  • Previous experience working directly with banks and business stakeholders.
  • Experience managing critical production incidents and go-live activities.
  • Experience in GCC/Middle East banking projects is highly desirable.
  • Temenos certification or relevant banking/core-banking certification would be an advantage.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Banking, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant Temenos/T24 certifications are an advantage.
