We are seeking a highly skilled DWDM Network Technician to design, deploy, and maintain optical networks using Nokia 1830 PSS platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in DWDM, OTN, and fiber-optic transmission technologies, ensuring optimal network performance and troubleshooting complex optical issues.
Key Responsibilities:1. Network Design and Planning
Design and configure DWDM optical networks using Nokia platforms.
Perform link engineering, including optical budget calculations and wavelength planning.
2. Installation and Commissioning
Deploy Nokia 1830 PSS equipment and integrate DWDM systems into existing networks.
Conduct testing and validation of optical network performance.
3. Operations and Maintenance
Monitor DWDM network performance using Nokia NMS/OSS tools.
Troubleshoot issues related to optical signal quality, hardware, and software.
Perform software upgrades, patch management, and system backups.
4. Collaboration and Documentation
Work with cross-functional teams to support network requirements and upgrades.
Document network configurations, topologies, and operational procedures.
5. Customer Support
Provide technical support for Nokia DWDM solutions.
Conduct training sessions for end-users and internal teams.
6. Compliance and Optimization
Ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices for optical networks.
Optimize DWDM network performance to meet SLA requirements.
Key Skills and Requirements: Technical Expertise:
Hands-on experience with Nokia 1830 PSS 16/32/64 series or similar platforms.
In-depth knowledge of DWDM, OTN, and coherent optical technologies.
Proficiency in network management systems like Nokia NSP (Network Services Platform).
Networking Knowledge:
Understanding of IP/MPLS, SDH/SONET, and Ethernet technologies.
Strong knowledge of fiber-optic principles and optical transmission.
Troubleshooting & Analysis:
Strong problem-solving skills for optical layer and hardware issues.
Experience using test equipment like OTDR, OSA, and BER testers.
Qualifications:
✅ Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field.
✅ 3+ years of experience in DWDM/optical networks.
✅ Certification in Nokia optical technologies (e.g., Nokia NRS) is a plus.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in multi-vendor network environments.
Proven track record in designing and deploying large-scale DWDM networks.
Experience with cable labelling and quality assurance processes.
