Cloud Solutions Expert is responsible for leading Telco Cloud transformation initiatives, defining the target architecture, and overseeing the design and evolution of both existing and future Telco Cloud infrastructures. The role ensures the successful delivery of cloud architecture and design activities aligned with business, operational, and technology objectives. In addition, the Cloud Solutions Expert is accountable for end-to-end capacity management across cloud platforms and infrastructure components, ensuring scalability, performance, resilience, and optimal resource utilization.

The role also drives the identification, design, and implementation of cloud automation use cases to enhance operational efficiency, service agility, and overall platform reliability.

Job Description & Responsibilities

  • Design, evolve, and optimize current and future Telco Cloud infrastructures to host mobile and fixed voice, data, VAS, and other telecommunications workloads.
  • Lead Telco Cloud transformation, modernization, and migration initiatives, ensuring alignment with emerging technologies, industry best practices, and strategic business objectives.
  • Define and oversee API integration architectures required for onboarding and integrating new VNFs/CNFs across northbound and southbound interfaces.
  • Manage end-to-end capacity, forecasting, performance monitoring, and expansion activities for Telco Cloud platforms, infrastructure, and services.
  • Collaborate closely with business units (Consumer, Enterprise, Wholesale, etc.) to understand demand requirements, define technical solutions, and identify the associated investment and budget needs.
  • Translate deployment roadmaps and strategic objectives into detailed cloud architecture, design, and implementation activities.
  • Prepare, review, and evaluate RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and related technical documentation for Telco Cloud infrastructure, platforms, and services in alignment with annual business plans.
  • Develop, review, and approve infrastructure dimensioning, solution designs, and implementation procedures, including Methods of Procedure (MOPs).
  • Drive infrastructure expansion initiatives to support the growth of Data, Voice, VAS, and Control Plane services while ensuring scalability, availability, and performance targets are met.
  • Support the evolution of network architecture and contribute to the technology strategy roadmap for future cloud-native telecommunications environments.
  • Build and enhance capabilities required to support 5G Standalone Core, Network Slicing, Private Networks, Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC), and emerging edge-cloud use cases.
  • Design and maintain business continuity, high-availability, resilience, and disaster recovery solutions that comply with Business Continuity and Risk Management requirements.
  • Lead the design and lifecycle management of Telco Cloud platforms, including infrastructure, hypervisors, VIM, CISM, VNFMs, CNFMs, NFVO, DC SDN, WAN solutions, load balancers, Smart NICs, and cloud management and automation platforms.
  • Identify, evaluate, and conduct Proofs of Concept (PoCs) for emerging technologies and provide recommendations for adoption.
  • Assess and validate vendor technical solutions, ensuring alignment with business requirements, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, including CST compliance.
  • Lead the design and evolution of Management and Orchestration (MANO) frameworks, ensuring alignment with industry-standard VNFM and NFVO architectures.
  • Develop, maintain, review, and approve technical documentation, including High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), Integration Specifications, Solution Design Documents, and architecture standards.
  • Ensure effective collaboration with Cybersecurity, Risk, and Data Protection teams to incorporate security-by-design principles, regulatory requirements, and data protection controls into all Telco Cloud solutions.
  • Drive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency, service agility, infrastructure lifecycle management, and overall platform reliability.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders throughout the solution lifecycle, from design through deployment and operational handover.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering or Telecommunication.
  • 12+ years of experience in the telecommunication industry, with a clear in-depth exposure on Telco Cloud Design.
  • Experience with major suppliers and Communications Service Providers are highly desirable. Tender preparation experience on relevant equipment is necessary.
  • Can perform necessary architecture analysis and design activities.
  • Solid experience in SDN/NFV Cloud, Solution Architecture, Agile methodology, Technical Leadership, Architecture Roadmap planning, enthusiasm to work on new Next Generation Technologies.
  • Exposure on NFV, OPNFV, service chaining, NFVI, VIM, NFVO, and VNFs.
  • Deep understanding of ETSI NFVI standardization for [MANO, OSM, NFVO, VNFM and VIM].
