Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking an experienced Technical Operations Manager to support the continued growth of MENA Assistance and TRAC.
Reporting to the Head of Automotive Operations, you will be responsible for the technical management of our roadside assistance, vehicle recovery, vehicle logistics and vehicle storage operations.
We are looking for someone who has progressed from a strong automotive technical background into operational leadership and enjoys developing people, improving standards and ensuring operational readiness.
This role is best suited to someone who prefers being close to the operation rather than sitting behind a desk.
The Opportunity
You will lead the technical development of our automotive operations by improving technical standards, operational procedures, fleet readiness and team capability.
Working closely with the Head of Automotive Operations, you will help ensure our recovery, logistics and storage operations are safe, efficient and scalable.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead the technical management of roadside assistance and vehicle recovery operations.
- Develop and maintain technical procedures, SOPs and operational standards.
- Ensure recovery operations are performed safely, efficiently and in accordance with company and OEM standards.
- Investigate technical incidents and implement corrective actions.
Fleet & Vehicle Operations
- Oversee the operational readiness of the recovery fleet and associated equipment.
- Manage fleet maintenance, inspections and compliance.
- Evaluate new equipment, tools and technologies that improve operational performance.
- Support the development of vehicle logistics and storage capabilities.
People & Training
- Lead, coach and develop recovery operators, drivers and technical personnel.
- Deliver technical training and competency assessments.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and technical development of operational staff.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
Operational Improvement
- Monitor operational KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Improve technical processes and operational efficiency.
- Support the implementation of automation and AI solutions where appropriate.
- Work closely with the Head of Automotive Operations on operational improvement initiatives.
About You
Experience
- Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in automotive technical operations, roadside assistance, vehicle recovery, workshop operations or vehicle logistics.
- A background as an Automotive Technician, Master Technician, OEM Technical Trainer, Workshop Manager, Technical Operations Manager or similar technical automotive leadership role.
- Strong technical understanding of passenger and commercial vehicles.
- Experience leading technical or operational teams.
- Experience developing SOPs, technical standards and training programmes.
- Experience in roadside assistance is advantageous but not essential.
