ALFIRAS General Contracting LLC is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead and oversee all technical and engineering functions across our construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all technical deliverables, design coordination, engineering reviews, and construction methodologies are aligned with project specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable standards.
The ideal candidate must have extensive experience working with main contracting companies and possess strong leadership skills to manage multidisciplinary technical teams while supporting project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the technical department, ensuring efficient execution of engineering and technical activities across multiple projects.
- Review and coordinate IFC drawings, shop drawings, construction drawings, and technical submissions.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract documents, local authority regulations, and international standards.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Consultants, Design Teams, Clients, and Subcontractors to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project execution.
- Review and approve material submittals, shop drawings, method statements, and technical documentation before submission.
- Identify design discrepancies, engineering conflicts, and constructability issues, providing practical technical solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and support to Project Managers, Site Engineers, QA/QC Engineers, and Planning Engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs, improve constructability, and enhance project efficiency.
- Monitor engineering deliverables and ensure timely completion in accordance with project schedules.
- Ensure all technical documentation is properly maintained and controlled.
- Support project teams during authority approvals and consultant inspections.
- Stay updated with UAE construction regulations, engineering standards, and industry best practices.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the technical engineering team while promoting continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Master’s Degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 12–15 years of total experience in the construction industry.
- Minimum 4–5 years of experience in a Technical Manager role.
- Mandatory experience working with a Main Contractor.
- Consultancy experience alone will not be considered.
- UAE/GCC construction experience is highly preferred.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale building and infrastructure projects.
Technical
Skills:
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, engineering principles, and technical coordination.
- Extensive knowledge of UAE building codes, authority regulations, and contractual requirements.
- Experience reviewing IFC drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
- Strong knowledge of value engineering, constructability reviews, and technical risk management.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Results-oriented with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
