Job Summary
Mobco Group is seeking a highly accomplished Technical Director to lead the technical and engineering functions across major construction projects in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have an Architectural or Civil Engineering background with extensive experience in the delivery of large-scale mega projects. The successful candidate will oversee all technical aspects of project execution, ensuring design excellence, engineering coordination, technical compliance, and successful project delivery from concept through handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all technical and engineering activities across assigned mega projects.
- Develop and implement technical strategies to ensure successful project execution.
- Manage multidisciplinary design coordination between Architectural, Civil, Structural, MEP, and specialist engineering disciplines.
- Review and approve engineering designs, technical submissions, shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, local regulations, international standards, and client requirements.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from design development to project handover.
- Lead value engineering initiatives and identify opportunities for design optimization and cost efficiency.
- Resolve complex technical and engineering challenges while minimizing project risks.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, project management teams, and construction teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Monitor technical performance, construction quality, and engineering compliance across multiple projects.
- Support tendering, technical proposals, procurement evaluations, and contractor selection.
- Lead technical review meetings, design coordination workshops, and executive engineering presentations.
- Mentor and develop engineering teams while promoting technical excellence and innovation.
- Prepare executive technical reports and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering (Mandatory).
- Master's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration (MBA) is highly preferred.
- Professional registration or membership with recognized engineering bodies is an advantage.
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 25 years of experience in technical leadership within the construction industry.
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering.
- Proven experience delivering mega construction projects.
- Extensive experience with large-scale hospitality, mixed-use, commercial, high-rise, infrastructure, or landmark developments.
- Strong expertise in design management, technical coordination, engineering reviews, and construction support.
- Previous experience working in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region is highly preferred.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
