Technical Director – Smart & Digital Design
A leading multinational real estate developer is seeking a Technical Director – Smart & Digital Design to spearhead innovation, strategic growth, and digital transformation initiatives across the built environment.
This high-impact leadership role is ideal for a forward-thinking expert with deep technical insight and a strong business development mindset—ready to lead the evolution of intelligent, connected, and sustainable design solutions.
As Technical Director – Smart & Digital Design, you will:
Lead the strategic vision, development, and execution of smart and digital design solutions across infrastructure and urban development projects.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding the consultancy’s digital footprint across key markets in the Middle East and beyond.
Drive client engagement by offering innovative digital strategies that address complex challenges in the built environment.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver data-driven, tech-enabled design solutions that improve performance, user experience, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare a strategy including vision and financial projections for the team. Include short and long term action plan and focus areas to provide an idea of the direction you would like to take the team.
Define and lead the digital and smart design strategy to position the company as a market leader.
Grow market share through targeted business development initiatives and proactive client relationship management.
Lead client engagements from concept to delivery, ensuring alignment between design, technology, and commercial objectives.
Provide expert advisory on emerging technologies—including IoT, AI, digital twins, and analytics platforms.
Guide interdisciplinary teams to deliver seamless, future-forward digital design experiences.
Represent the consultancy at industry events and strategic forums, building visibility and influence in the smart design space.
Stay ahead of trends, identifying and integrating innovative tools, platforms, and methodologies to elevate service offerings.
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Digital Design, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field (Master’s or certifications in digital transformation, smart technologies, or business strategy preferred).
Minimum of 12 years’ experience in digital and smart design, with a strong focus on consulting and business development in the AEC or infrastructure sectors.
Proven track record of winning and delivering high-value client engagements in the digital or smart design domain.
In-depth knowledge of intelligent systems, IoT, AI/ML, data-driven platforms, and their real-world application in construction and urban development.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to work across multinational, cross-functional teams.
Strategic thinker with excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
