Job Summary:
Gerbou is seeking an experienced and charismatic Head Hostess to lead the front-of-house guest experience. The ideal candidate is an Arab woman who embodies traditional Emirati hospitality, exuding warmth, grace, and a deep understanding of local customs. The Head Hostess will be responsible for ensuring every guest is welcomed with genuine enthusiasm, managing reservations efficiently, and leading a team of hostesses to maintain the highest level of service.
This role requires fluency in both Arabic and English, a keen ability to resolve guest concerns, and a proactive approach to ensuring a seamless dining experience. The Head Hostess will be the face of Gerbou, making every guest feel valued while upholding the essence of Emirati hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:Guest Experience & Hospitality
Greet and welcome every guest with warmth, ensuring they feel valued from the moment they arrive.
Uphold traditional Emirati welcoming customs, incorporating cultural nuances into the greeting process.
Ensure the seating process is smooth and efficient, managing reservations and walk-ins with professionalism.
Maintain a joyful and welcoming atmosphere, engaging with guests to enhance their overall experience.
Take the lead in handling special requests, such as VIP guests, celebrations, or dietary preferences.
Leadership & Team Management
Supervise and mentor the hostess team, ensuring they maintain Gerbou’s high hospitality standards.
Conduct regular training sessions on hospitality etiquette, guest engagement, and problem-solving.
Lead by example, ensuring that the team remains positive, professional, and courteous at all times.
Work closely with the restaurant manager and floor staff to coordinate guest flow and minimize wait times.
Problem Solving & Customer Satisfaction
Act as the first point of contact for guest concerns, resolving issues promptly with a solution-oriented approach.
Anticipate guest needs before they arise, ensuring their experience is seamless and enjoyable.
Handle complaints professionally, turning negative situations into positive guest experiences.
Maintain close communication with the service and kitchen teams to ensure smooth operations.
Reservation & Seating Management
Oversee the reservation system, ensuring accurate bookings and proper table allocation.
Manage peak hours efficiently to balance reservations and walk-ins, reducing guest wait times.
Keep track of VIP guests, ensuring personalized service and maintaining guest preference records.
Ambience & Brand Representation
Ensure the hostess area remains impeccable, reflecting Gerbou’s refined aesthetic and attention to detail.
Represent the restaurant’s brand and values, upholding a professional and polished appearance.
Work with the marketing team to curate a welcoming experience for special events and guest experiences.
Requirements:
Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Head Hostess in a fine dining or high-end hospitality setting.
Arab national with a deep understanding of local customs, traditions, and Emirati hospitality.
A welcoming, joyful, and engaging personality with a genuine love for guest interaction.
Strong leadership skills with experience in mentoring and managing a team.
Problem-solving ability with a proactive approach to guest satisfaction.
Excellent communication and organizational skills to handle reservations and guest inquiries.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage peak hours efficiently.
Well-groomed with a professional and polished appearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in luxury dining, five-star hotels, or Emirati fine dining.
Knowledge of local VIP and HNW guest preferences within the UAE.
Familiarity with restaurant reservation software and guest management tools.
