Job Description
Role:
Technical Architect
Location:
Abu Dhabi
Role Purpose:
To work with multiple teams and business stakeholders to deliver a state-of-the-art digital experience through resilient, robust, and fast Omni-channel Microservice designs.
Key Accountabilities:
Advocate for improvements in product quality, security, and performance.
Solve high-complexity technical problems.
Influence team objectives and long-term goals.
Define and improve internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for high-scale web environments, and promote these standards through code reviews.
Drive innovation by experimenting and confronting complex problems.
Identify and address technical debt to improve team efficiency.
Engage with customers and external stakeholders as a team representative.
Mentor engineers to develop their technical skills and autonomy.
Ship large features and improvements with minimal guidance, collaborating on larger projects.
Mentor team members in an open, respectful, and empathetic manner, creating redundancy and backfill capabilities.
Collaborate on engineering work based on organizational strategy, and contribute to strategic decisions.
Evaluate and develop new product features with the product team.
Participate in creating and refining the team roadmap and technical design discussions.
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
Write production-ready, understandable, and well-tested code, considering edge cases and errors.
Use comments judiciously, favoring self-documenting code, and understand testing frameworks and quality metrics.
Diagnose issues through systematic debugging.
Drive monitoring and operational improvements based on data.
Have expertise in system architecture, design patterns, and future scalability considerations.
Work with security teams to enhance system security.
Previous Experience:
10+ years in software development with Java/JEE/Spring frameworks.
3+ years designing distributed systems.
Certifications such as TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, or GCP Solutions Architect.
Experience with Microservices, containers, and cloud-native applications, including Docker, Kubernetes, or Open Shift.
Proficiency with static code analysis, testing, security testing, and automation tools like Jenkins, Sonar Qube, GIT, Maven, Gradle.
Experience with application servers such as JBoss, Tomcat, Web Logic, or Web Sphere.
Strong Agile experience (Scrum/Kanban).
Experience with databases like Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, or Mongo
DB.
Experience in a Dev Ops environment is a plus.
Proven ability to deliver high-quality systems.
Excellent communication skills.
