Team Lead – Transportation
Amazon is seeking a Team Lead for its Transportation team. You and your team of Transportation Associates will work with carriers, site operations, and NOC to ensure the on-time arrival of linehaul vans. You will be responsible for training Associates and Carriers, analyzing performance trends, identifying root causes, and implementing improvements to enhance the performance and speed of our transportation network.

Key Responsibilities
Vendor development and performance management
Monitoring daily network performance, analyzing exceptions, and planning corrective actions
Managing transport operations within the assigned city/territory with support from Associates and Relay operations center
Developing processes and mechanisms to maintain high performance standards
Reducing breakdowns and delays in the network
Leading process improvement initiatives
Collaborating on quality and Customer Experience metrics, including root cause analysis
Streamlining logistics through standard work and team leadership
A Day in the Life
Carrier onboarding and management
Monitoring carrier performance and VC reduction
Capacity planning, TU analysis, and vehicle rightsizing
Performance reviews and weekly business reviews (W )
Reducing in-transit losses/damages through coordination with SLP and carriers
Engaging with Safety to improve yard and road safety
Site management
Aligning vehicle fleet plans with stakeholders
Providing distance and transit time inputs for all OD pairs
Checking FCND, YMS cases
Reducing unloading dwells in collaboration with sites
Ensuring compliance with programs such as R4D, R4C, GPS registration, BGV
About the Team
The team manages complete ground transportation, including Milkrun and linehaul operations. The Linehaul POC is the carrier manager responsible for 10-15 carriers, overseeing operational performance, compliance, safety, and quality.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of city topography and road networks
