About the Fellowship

The Provost Fellowship Programme at Edinburgh Business School Dubai invites early‑career academics to develop teaching, research, and scholarship skills over a two‑year period. Fellows join the Management Department and collaborate with academic teams.

What We Are Looking For

PhD (or equivalent) in International Business or a related discipline. The role is ideal for recent PhD graduates or those finalising their viva who have limited teaching experience.

Key

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Undertake teaching and assessment duties for undergraduate students, initially as team‑teaching with a senior colleague.
  • Work on research following an agreed plan with a mentor.
  • Contribute to curriculum design and delivery of courses.
  • Deliver online classes.
  • Support accreditation processes.
  • Provide pastoral support and refer students for further assistance.
  • Stay up‑to‑date with research developments.
  • Build and conduct research in one or more of the School’s research areas.
  • Identify and apply for research grants.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the UK, other campuses, and external networks.
  • Support Open Days and other recruitment events.
  • Undertake continuous professional development and staff development activities.

    • Support and Development

    Teaching support includes workshops on teaching skills, technology use, assessment, student engagement, and peer review. Research support includes a research mentor, publication planning, advice on funding, and opportunities to present at seminars and conferences.

    Education & Qualifications Essential

    • PhD or equivalent in an appropriate discipline.
    • Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
    • Fluency (verbal and written) in English.
    • Experience working in culturally diverse teams.

    Desirable

    • Member of a relevant professional body.
    • Experience delivering undergraduate teaching.
    • Associate membership of the Higher Education Academy.
    • Experience maintaining industry links.
