Talent Pool Mechanical Senior Supervisor Jobs in Dukhān, Qatar at BAE Systems (New)
The post holder will be an experienced and skilled mechanical technician and supervisor undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities on the Typhoon aircraft or aircraft components.
The post holder requires an excellent understanding of the approved technical data set and is competent to supervise personnel carrying out maintenance instructions in accordance with the organisation’s regulatory framework.
Demonstrates a distinct ability to analyze and diagnose faults to aircraft systems, equipment, and assemblies, follow diagnostic procedures, and work effectively within a team. Provides guidance to less experienced team members in a diverse and dynamic operational environment.
Undertakes detailed maintenance, inspection, and supervision activities on the Typhoon and its components. Ensures work is completed in accordance with the work package using relevant approved technical information. Resolves faults and maintenance issues, including configuration management.
Performs and completes maintenance and diagnostic activities on the Typhoon aircraft or components, which may include aircraft ground handling, flight servicing, aircraft role changes, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements, and/or functional/system tests.
Demonstrates a flexible and proactive attitude to responsibilities and takes direction appropriately.
Maintains personal task authorizations for working on aircraft or components.
Ensures maintenance is undertaken to schedule, resolves issues, and escalates as required.
Undertakes fault evaluation and raises ad hoc work cards for found faults during maintenance.
Supervises the team to ensure maintenance is completed to schedule, highlights issues, and reports impacts to the wider program.
Ensures staff are competent and approved for assigned tasks.
Supports tasks within the maintenance facility to maintain compliance with MOE and FMPs, e.g., oversight checks, tooling/test equipment control.
Provides guidance and leadership, developing team members through assessments, supporting training, and on-the-job learning. Demonstrates strong communication and people management skills.
Capable of conducting independent and critical inspections.
Maintains a personal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency, signs others’ logbooks as appropriate, and undertakes assessments and approvals as authorized.
Requirements
Completion of Typhoon Q-Course is essential.
Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering or Military equivalent.
Minimum academic qualification of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent. Aircraft platform training is required.
Broad and in-depth product knowledge within own technical area. Awareness of team integration and continuous improvement.
Minimum of 2 years experience at Technician level before undertaking a Supervisor role, with documented skills, knowledge, and authorities in a Log Book.
Practical experience in aviation safety standards and operating practices. Knowledge of Expositions and FMPs. PDR training/experience.
Compliance with risk assessments, SHE policies, and procedures.
