SYSTEM CONTROL ENGINEER – TRANSMISSION NETWORK ANALYSIS

Salary & Benefits:

- Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree (BSc.) in Electrical Engineering.
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Highly Preferred: PhD in Engineering.
Experience & Requirements
- 20+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering System Studies within utilities and/or engineering consultancy environments.
- Minimum 15+ years of hands-on experience with:
- PSS/E
- DIgSILENT PowerFactory
- PSCAD
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in power system studies, transmission analysis, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of transmission network analysis, power system modeling, and grid performance assessment.
- Proven experience in conducting technical studies to support transmission network planning and system development.
- Strong analytical, technical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Objective
To provide advanced technical analysis, power system modeling, and expert engineering support for transmission network planning, ensuring the electrical grid maintains reliability, security, stability, and optimal expansion in line with future load growth and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced power system studies and transmission network analysis.
- Develop, validate, and maintain power system models using PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, and PSCAD.
- Conduct studies related to load flow, short circuit, contingency analysis, voltage stability, transient stability, and other system performance requirements.
- Analyze the impact of future load growth and proposed network expansions on system performance.
- Identify network constraints, reliability issues, and potential system risks.
- Provide technical recommendations for network reinforcement and expansion.
- Support transmission network planning through detailed engineering studies and simulations.
- Review and validate technical studies and reports prepared by consultants.
- Provide expert technical advice on grid reliability, security, stability, and operational performance.
- Lead and mentor engineers and technical teams involved in system studies.
- Coordinate with planning, operations, projects, and other stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of network development strategies.
Pay: QAR14,000.00 – QAR15,000.00 per month
