- Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in Engineering.
- Highly Preferred: PhD in Engineering.
Experience & Requirements
- 20+ years of experience in Transmission Network Planning within utilities and/or engineering consultancy environments.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in power system studies related to transmission networks.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in network planning or related functions.
- Strong knowledge and experience in planning Extra High Voltage (EHV) and High Voltage (HV) transmission networks.
- Experience with transmission voltage levels including:
- 400 kV
- 220 kV
- 132 kV
- 66 kV
- Strong understanding of transmission network development, system reliability, demand forecasting, and long-term network planning.
- Experience in power system analysis and network studies.
- Strong leadership, analytical, consulting, and technical decision-making skills.
Objective
To provide expert consultation and strategic technical guidance for the planning and development of KAHRAMAA’s Extra High Voltage (EHV) and High Voltage (HV) transmission network, ensuring the network can accommodate future demand growth, system expansion, reliability, and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on the strategic planning and development of the transmission network.
- Develop and review long-term transmission network plans for 400 kV, 220 kV, 132 kV, and 66 kV systems.
- Conduct and/or review transmission network and power system studies.
- Assess future demand growth and determine required network reinforcements and expansions.
- Evaluate system reliability, network capacity, and transmission performance.
- Provide technical recommendations for new substations, transmission lines, and network reinforcement projects.
- Review network planning studies, technical reports, and engineering proposals prepared by consultants.
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, projects, and other stakeholders on transmission network development.
- Provide expert technical input for system reliability and long-term electricity network development.
- Lead and mentor technical teams involved in transmission network planning and system studies.
Pay: QAR14,000.00 – QAR15,000.00 per month
