Sustainability Officer | Majid Al Futtaim
ROLE SUMMARY
The Sustainability Officer is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of sustainability initiatives across Majid Al Futtaim. The role will drive the execution of the sustainability roadmap, including the “Dare Today, Change Tomorrow” strategy, by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance, and promoting best practices to achieve business and environmental objectives.
ROLE PROFILE
- Communicate and promote sustainability best practices across key areas such as procurement, planning, construction, transport, and waste management to internal stakeholders.
- Support the collection, analysis, and reporting of data related to Net Zero targets and sustainability KPIs in a timely manner.
- Liaise with external organizations to stay updated on market trends and best practices, and drive awareness through campaigns, events, and internal initiatives.
- Support the development of policies, strategies, and performance metrics in collaboration with the Director of Excellence and Compliance.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of sustainability initiatives related to climate action, circular economy, nature recovery, responsible procurement, and inclusion.
- Prepare regular reports on sustainability performance, project progress, and key initiatives.
- Develop business cases for new sustainability initiatives through research and analysis.
- Coordinate and support the execution of the “Dare Today, Change Tomorrow” sustainability plan and annual workstreams across departments and OpCos.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders (government entities, NGOs, academic institutions, and partners).
- Support the rollout of training and awareness programs to enhance sustainability knowledge and compliance across the organization.
- Ensure adherence to Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Act as a sustainability ambassador, promoting MAF values and driving engagement across the business.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in sustainability, ESG, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks, ESG principles, and Net Zero strategies.
- Experience in data analysis, reporting, and performance tracking.
- Retail industry experience is preferred
