Job Description

The Survival Equipment and Avionics Controller is responsible for ensuring that all offaircraft maintenance work is performed to approve data and quality standards.

Reporting to the Deputy Depth Maintenance Manager for the organisation,administration, control and efficiency of the Part 145 Bay Operations

The post holder will be an experienced and skilled technician undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities on an aircraft or aircraft component, demonstrating the ability to derive diagnostictechniques. Responsible for maintaining airworthiness through appropriate task delegation and authorisation on an aircraft or aircraft component.

Responsible for tasking of work & supervision of personnel/people management. Responsible for meeting agreed delivery targets at a tacticallevel. Demonstrates people management and leadership skills. Demonstrates awareness of broader external dependencies and identifies areas for continuous improvement.

  • Initial set up of aircraft bays
  • Responsible for ensuring that all off aircraft maintenance work is performed to approved data and quality standards. Reporting to the Deputy Depth Maintenance Manager for the organisation, administration, control and efficiency of the Part 145 Bay Operations
  • Ensuring that all required regulatory and company standards ofquality are achieved for all tasks carried out in the maintenance organisation
  • Requires the ability to think and plan tactically to respond tothe constantly changing environment in terms of Customer and product changes/customisation, therefore, it also demands the capability to organiseresource balancing/training to meet changing standards
  • Provide Information, Statistics and Data as required for input tothe Operational Performance Review
  • Supervising theteam to ensure that maintenance is undertaken to schedule and highlight anyissues, elevate as required. Report on any impact to the wider programme
  • Demonstrate aflexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate tothe role and takes direction appropriately
  • Ensuring thatstaff are sufficiently competent and approved for the maintenance tasksallocated to them. Maintain personal & teams task authorisation for workingon an aircraft or components in accordance with AMC requirements
  • Responsible for meeting agreed delivery targets in the short to medium term through the supervision of others. Progress reporting against delivery targets to management
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the team. Develops team members using formal assessment processes, e.g. PDR’s, supports and sponsors training requests including ‘onthe job training’. Demonstrates sound and comprehensive communication andpeople management skills in order to exchange complicated information
  • Maintainingpersonal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency, on completion of On theJob training (OJT) activities, sign QEAF personnel’s Log Books as appropriate within your trade and skills boundaries. If you are an approveddesignated assessor, undertake authorisation and task competency approvals, andcheck Pt 145 license application packs prior to submission.
  • Oversight of HMSSrepairs and maintenance
  • Provide reporting and oversight to QEAF consolidation activites with Pt145 Off Aircraft workshops

Key Accountabilities

  • Performance indicators – Ensure the effective management of Regulatory activities by setting delivery targets,monitoring progress and developing performance improvement programmes.

    Prioritises activities within/across teams to maximise efficiency. Represents the Maintenance Manager at management reviews, where necessary. Responsible forthe assessment of escalated issues for any impact on Continuing Airworthinessand generating effective resolution, or sponsoring escalation to management, as appropriate

  • Procedure/standards – Comply withthe Regulatory Framework, its associated procedures and standards, and anyother company procedures and standards.
