Summary:As a Storekeeper, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient operation of the warehouse, including managing inventory, handling materials, and maintaining an organized and safe warehouse environment.
Functions:
Your duties will consist of but not limited to:
Maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring stock levels are monitored, updated, and discrepancies are reported and addressed promptly.
Receive incoming shipments, verify their contents against purchase orders, inspect for quality, and report any discrepancies or damages to management.
Ensure goods are stored properly in designated areas, organizing them efficiently for easy retrieval and ensuring thatsafety protocolsare followed.
Prepare orders for shipment by picking, packing, and labeling materials according to delivery requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure smooth dispatch of goods, keeping records of shipments and updating the inventory system accordingly.
Maintain a clean andsafe working environmentby adhering to health and safety guidelines, reporting hazards, and conducting regular safety checks.
Keep accurate records of stock movements, report on inventory levels, and assist with audits as required by management.
Participate in regular stock checks, cycle counts, and annual inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
Work with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and managecommunicationwith suppliers and other departments.
Skills and Qualifications
Experience in managing or working within a warehouse environment, understanding of inventory control processes, and efficient stock handling.
Strongattention to detail, ensuring that inventory is accurately tracked, orders are filled correctly, and discrepancies are promptly addressed.
Ability to lift and move heavy items safely, handle manual labor, and operate warehouse equipment.
Excellent organizational abilities to maintain a clean and well-organized warehouse while managing multiple tasks.
Experience with forklift operation and other warehouse machinery is a plus, or the willingness to be trained.
Strong verbal and writtencommunication skillsto interact with team members, supervisors, and other departments effectively.
Ability to identify and resolve issues quickly, particularly in relation to inventory discrepancies, shipping delays, or other operational challenges.
Knowledge ofwarehouse safetystandards and the ability to work in compliance with those guidelines to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
Familiarity withinventory managementsoftware and basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
