A Steward carries out general cleaning duties and operates pot-washing and dishware machinery to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience, while ensuring all back of house areas are kept clean and safety guidelines are observed.
What will I be doing?
As a Steward, you are responsible for carrying out general cleaning duties and operating pot-washing machinery to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. You will also ensure all back of house areas are kept clean and observe Occupational Safety and Health and Hygiene Regulations and health and safety guidelines. Specifically, you will be responsible for:
Operating pot-washing machinery and maintaining a hygienic working environment in accordance with hygiene regulations and company standards
Carrying out general cleaning, including sweeping, mopping, washing up, and emptying rubbish bins, ensuring correct disposal
Keeping all kitchen and back of house areas clean, and ensuring equipment is cleaned according to the schedule
Ensuring the correct PPE is used and guidelines are followed
Observing health, hygiene, and safety guidelines when handling hazardous substances and complying with all safety requirements
Reporting maintenance issues or hazards to the supervisor on duty
Performing any other reasonable tasks set by hotel management
