- The Steel Building Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing steel building projects from contract award through fabrication, delivery, erection, and final completion. The role requires strong project management, technical knowledge of structural steel and pre-engineered metal buildings, and the ability to coordinate clients, engineers, architects, fabricators, subcontractors, and site teams.Key ResponsibilitiesRequirementsKey Competencies

- Manage steel building projects from project handover to completion.
- Review contracts, drawings, specifications, BOQs, and project requirements.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, and execution strategies.
- Coordinate with structural engineers, detailers, architects, fabricators, suppliers, and erection contractors.
- Monitor structural steel fabrication, material procurement, quality control, and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate site erection activities and ensure work progresses according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Track project costs, variations, change orders, and overall profitability.
- Review shop drawings, fabrication drawings, material specifications, and technical submittals.
- Identify project risks, delays, technical issues, and resource requirements and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct regular project meetings and provide progress reports to management and clients.
- Ensure compliance with approved designs, applicable building codes, HSE requirements, and quality standards.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, punch-list activities, commissioning, and project handover.
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers and monitor their performance against contractual requirements.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, approvals, change orders, progress reports, and as-built records.
- Maintain effective communication with clients and resolve project issues promptly.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of project management experience, preferably in structural steel, pre-engineered buildings (PEB), or industrial/commercial construction.
- Strong understanding of steel structures, fabrication, detailing, erection, and construction processes.
- Experience interpreting structural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
- Knowledge of project scheduling, cost control, procurement, and subcontractor management.
- Familiarity with relevant international/local steel and construction standards.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management/scheduling software.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
- Experience working with clients, consultants, fabricators, and site erection teams.
