Location: Abqaiq
Basic Function
Provide high-standard, cost-effective care of the respective specialty to JHAH eligible medical recipients under the supervision of the Attending Physician. Execute duties within the approved Credentials & Privileges provided by the Hospital Credentials & Privileging Committee.
Scope
Attend clinical and educational rounds, including morning reports and sign-out rounds when appropriate. Participate in multi-disciplinary team rounds. Engage in service/department Quality and Safety activities, including reviews, audits, and presentations. Report patients’ adverse events to the appropriate department. Contribute to service and department meetings. Prepare and provide patient reports as required, adhering to hospital policies. Participate actively in assigned committees. Keep updated with and follow hospital and departmental policies and bylaws.
Ensure legible, timely entries into patient records and maintain complete, confidential patient case records. Participate in medical records audits as needed.
Principal Contacts
Daily contact with hospitalized patients and their families, nurses, physicians, and other medical staff. Close contact with Emergency Medical Service physicians, Clinical Medicine Services physicians, Surgical & Diagnostic Services physicians, Radiology Services, and other requesting services.
Principal
Duties
Inpatient
Duties :
• Assess and admit patients via Emergency Room, outpatient clinics, or transfers from other hospitals as directed.
• Conduct investigations and admission work-ups.
• Perform daily patient assessments, planning and executing management under supervision.
• Conduct rounds on admitted patients and consults.
• Respond to emergency calls promptly and provide necessary care.
• Participate in trauma, Code blue, or rapid response care as per credentials.
• Handle inpatient consultations within required time frames.
• Conduct rounds in intensive care units when on-call.
• Prepare patients for discharge and dictate discharge summaries.
• Provide 24-hour in-house call coverage as scheduled.
Outpatient
Duties :
• Attend outpatient clinics within approved privileges.
• Refer patients to other services appropriately.
• Evaluate emergency room patients and perform minor procedures.
Operating Room
Duties (for applicable specialties):
• Assist in the operating room.
• Perform operative procedures within privileges.
• Manage perioperative anesthesia within privileges.
• Maintain professionalism and punctuality.
• Keep caregivers informed and document procedures.
• Ensure safe patient transfer and complete documentation.
Experience
Minimum 2 years in the specialty post-internship, preferably in a teaching hospital.
Certifications/Other Requirements
• Participate in teaching and educational activities.
• Stay updated with current knowledge and skills.
• Maintain required CME credits.
