Assuming responsibility and accountability for a specific assigned clinic or area using a collaborative approach with other team members to ensure patients receive the expected care and service. The OPD Nurse acts as a liaison, facilitating collaboration between physicians, patients, families, interdisciplinary team members, and other department staff.
Key Responsibilities
/ Accountabilities
Ensure the readiness and arrangement of the clinic or assigned area (environment cleanliness, supplies) daily.
Assist physicians in examining patients.
Receive calls, provide clarifications, and answer inquiries as needed.
Organize patient flow to and from the clinic.
Ensure all required documents are completed (claims, referrals, etc.).
Track patient status and assist as needed.
Communicate with labs, radiology, and other departments as necessary.
Check vital signs and document according to documentation policies.
Refer any findings or observations to the treating doctors immediately.
Carry out doctor’s orders promptly and accurately.
Process admissions and referrals efficiently and timely.
Provide patient and family education tailored to their needs.
Adhere to nursing documentation policies.
Initiate emergency and resuscitative measures as needed.
Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
Maintain required competencies as per the approved competency matrix.
Adhere to JCIA and CBAHI standards.
Attend departmental training and educational activities.
Participate in department meetings.
Comply with infection control principles.
Adhere to HMG Nursing Dress Code policy.
Operate department machinery and equipment.
Provide supervision and support during assigned shifts (team leader role) to ensure task completion.
Participate in person-centered care initiatives by HMG.
Enhance patient experience with compassion, respect, and dignity.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse within the scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities.

To assume responsibility and accountability for a specific clinic or area, ensuring quality care through collaboration with team members. The OPD Nurse facilitates communication and coordination between physicians, patients, families, and other staff to deliver optimal care.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent; or a 3-year General Nursing Diploma.
Preferably some hospital experience.
Valid Saudi Council license and licensing from the country of origin.
Certifications such as BLS and relevant certificates.
