Position: SR. TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEER
Primary Purpose of the Job
Provide technical design and engineering services in Telecommunication Engineering for all assigned engineering projects. Achieve the technical quality of work in accordance with Qatar Energy procedures, considering quality, schedule, cost, and HSE.
Principal Accountabilities
Conduct Telecommunication Engineering activities and in-house site surveys for projects, from initial concept definition through engineering studies, FEED, detailed design, and commissioning.
Ensure the incorporation and adherence to Qatar Energy technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental, and safety policies in work scopes and activities. Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards, and practices.
Support the Engineering Department in reviewing, updating, and applying Qatar Energy standards and amendments to external standards.
Plan and coordinate activities of a multidisciplinary engineering team to deliver technical services timely and meet project requirements.
Coordinate engineering designs, develop, and review multi-disciplinary work scopes for projects, ensuring clarity and comprehensiveness.
Review and approve method statements from contracted organizations for scope compliance; liaise to resolve technical issues.
Develop, update, and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities; contribute to external FEED/EPIC scheduling for effective project delivery.
Evaluate technical bid packages for scope compliance.
Review and assess Contract Changes/Variations against approved guidelines and practices.
Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills / Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunication, or Electronics & Communication Engineering.
Chartered Engineer / Professional Engineer status or equivalent preferred.
Minimum 10 years of relevant postgraduate experience, with at least 6 years in the Oil & Gas industry.
Ability to identify and utilize relevant engineering standards and codes related to Telecommunication Engineering.
Proven ability to manage time, cost, and quality within multiple engineering projects.
Strong communication and presentation skills; fluency in English.
