Purpose
of the Job
Develop and manage funding programs and financing structures for all Qatar Energy-related new projects. Secure limited/non-recourse long-term financings from the international financial market on optimal terms, aligned with corporate and Qatar policies for Qatar Energy, its subsidiaries, and joint ventures involving large/mega projects.
Collaborate closely with the Commercial Directorate to perform financial and tax due diligence for new projects, plan and schedule funding/financing structures, and ensure risks and liabilities are properly addressed in project agreements.
Required Experience and Skills
Minimum 12 years of post-qualification experience in a Project Finance environment, with at least 5 years of direct experience in Project Financing.
Educational Qualifications
A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline. A postgraduate degree, MBA, or professional qualifications (CA, FCCA, ICMA) are highly desirable.
The role requires representing Qatar Energy in financing meetings with senior representatives from major institutions, international advisors, and law firms. Candidates must have high credibility, technical expertise in financial reporting and project cash flows, and strong negotiation, interpersonal, supervisory, and management skills. An in-depth understanding of global economic and political issues affecting the industry and company performance is essential.
