Job Purpose
The Senior Procurement Engineer will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities for MEP projects, including materials, equipment, subcontractors, and services. The role will ensure timely procurement, competitive pricing, quality compliance, and delivery in line with project requirements, approved budgets, and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage procurement activities based on project requirements, BOQs, drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Source and evaluate reliable suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors, and service providers.
- Obtain competitive quotations and prepare Technical & Commercial Comparison Statements (TCCS).
- Review technical and commercial offers and identify deviations, exclusions, alternatives, and risks.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, warranties, delivery schedules, credit terms, and other commercial conditions.
- Manage procurement of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, fire alarm, ELV, pumps, valves, pipes, fittings, control panels, insulation, supports, tools, consumables, and other MEP materials and equipment.
- Source and coordinate MEP subcontractors for specialized works and services, including obtaining quotations, evaluating technical and commercial proposals, negotiating rates, and supporting subcontract award and execution.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Project Management, QS, Planning, QA/QC, Stores, Finance, Logistics, and site teams to ensure procurement requirements are met.
- Identify and monitor long-lead materials and subcontract works to prevent project delays.
- Prepare and process POs/LPOs and subcontractor-related commercial documentation in accordance with company procedures.
- Follow up with suppliers and subcontractors regarding manufacturing, mobilization, delivery, progress, documentation, and quality requirements.
- Monitor supplier and subcontractor performance and take corrective action where required.
- Support cost control, value engineering, and cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or project specifications.
- Maintain procurement records, approved vendor databases, quotations, comparison statements, POs, subcontract documents, delivery records, and procurement status reports.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with project specifications, company policies, approved vendor requirements, and applicable UAE regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Procurement/Supply Chain certification will be an added advantage.
Experience Minimum
- 7–10 years of experience in procurement, preferably within an MEP contracting or construction company. Strong UAE experience in procurement of MEP materials, equipment, and subcontractor services is preferred.
- Experience handling multiple MEP/construction projects simultaneously. Strong knowledge of UAE suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors, and MEP market practices.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of MEP materials, equipment, and procurement processes. Strong supplier and subcontractor negotiation and management skills. Good technical and commercial evaluation skills.
- Ability to understand MEP drawings, BOQs, specifications, and material requirements. Strong procurement planning and long-lead item management skills. Excellent communication, coordination, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and ERP/procurement systems. Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines. Key Performance Indicators Timely procurement and delivery of materials and equipment.
- Effective subcontractor sourcing and coordination. Procurement cost savings and budget compliance. Supplier and subcontractor performance.
- Reduction of procurement-related project delays. Compliance with approved specifications and quality requirements. Accuracy and completeness of procurement documentation.
Pay: AED8,000.00 – AED10,000.00 per month

- Sharjah: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
