Position: SR. IT ENGINEER (ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE) – قطر للطاقة
Information Technology Strategy & Enterprise Architecture
Primary purpose of job
Responsible for leading and driving Qatar Energy’s ICT strategy, vision, mission, and strategic objectives in alignment with Enterprise Architecture Domains and Principles throughout Qatar Energy’s ICT department.
Nice to have architecture design experience in Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
Experience & Skills
A minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in IT Enterprise Architecture and Strategy, with at least five (5) years of demonstrated enterprise architecture qualification and discipline – TOGAF / Zachman and architecture modelling using EA tools such as Archi Mate / Alfabet / BiZZdesign, etc. is mandatory.
Experience in developing, coordinating, and executing IT strategic roadmaps based on corporate objectives and strategies.
Additional responsibilities include:
Implementation of Enterprise Architecture (EA) frameworks, capabilities, and processes that embed strategic change management and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
Development of policies and procedures around EA, understanding current EA to inform procurement and identify architectural gaps, involving stakeholders for alignment.
Providing technology guidance for ICT strategic initiatives in alignment with Qatar Energy’s EA framework and guidelines.
Contributing to solution architecture development for various business, infrastructure, or functional areas using appropriate tools and methods, evaluating alternative architectures considering cost, performance, and scalability.
Supporting strategic transformation programs and projects by offering consulting services on technical plans, design principles, and adherence to Qatar Energy EA standards.
Facilitating brainstorming sessions to derive strategic/tactical architectural outcomes and staying informed about emerging ICT technologies to identify business opportunities.
Advising ICT staff and related areas on technical expertise, including budgetary, legislative, safety, and security considerations.
Nice to have certifications such as Microsoft Azure, Google Professional Cloud Architect, AWS Solution Architect, and Information Systems Security Architecture.
Possessing a strong conceptual understanding of the IT landscape (infrastructure, application, security) to make key technical and governance recommendations considering current and emerging technologies.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, architecture, and people management, along with negotiation and persuasion skills.
Good knowledge of data management strategies, data architecture, and design principles, as well as experience designing business processing models and notation tools.
Education
Bachelor’s degree (required) and Master’s degree (preferable) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related Engineering/Business fields.
