Sr. Instrumentation Engineer Jobs in Doha, Qatar at Client of Brunel
Identify, develop, evaluate, and optimize infrastructure project Instrumentation, Automation & ELV aspects/concepts, including reviewing Project Development Proposals (PDP) and developing Design Support Packages (DSPs) to initiate Project Initiation Notes (PIN) for new capital projects under the Technical Directorate.
Prepare and issue Work Change Requests (WCR) in close coordination with Engineering / Asset holders during project execution. Participate in WCR preparation as needed.
Review and approve technical submissions from End-Users/Tenants/Investors for off-plot, on-plot, and port expansion developments related to Instrumentation and automation systems, ensuring compliance with the Industrial Cities Master Plan, Guidelines, Standards, and Regulations in coordination with the IT department.
Endorse Scope of Work (SOW) and technical submittals for all Engineering projects executed by the Technical Directorate, ensuring adherence to requirements regarding interfaces, tie-in connections, materials specifications, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
Coordinate with the Project Department on the implementation of Instrumentation, Automation & ELV systems across various projects to identify synergies and optimize processes.
Review and approve technical submittals for Tenants/Investors Building Permits, including Method Statements (MS), Job Safety Analyses (JSA), related to Instrumentation and automation & ELV systems, ensuring alignment with the Master Plan and standards.
Participate actively in Mechanical completion walkthroughs for VI projects to verify construction as per scope and approved documents.
Witness testing & commissioning activities and participate in operational and final handover walkthroughs.
Conduct site inspections with End users to ensure systems are built in compliance with project documents and permits.
Visit sites to resolve conflicts between Contractors/Tenants and O&M during utility tie-ins.
Coordinate with Departments, Consultants, Contractors, and End Users to finalize technical requirements and interface activities related to pre-commissioning and commissioning.
Manage work schedules of ECS, FEED, Construction, and EPIC contractors, resolving interface and conflict issues.
Ensure compliance with Industrial Cities Regulations and Guidelines by participating in design reviews and HAZOP studies, ensuring major industries and EPC contractors adhere to technical and space requirements.
Check and approve building permit applications and permit-to-work (PTW/CPW/e-CPW) for all instrumentation activities, coordinating with the IT department.
Desired Candidate Profile
10-12 years of hands-on engineering, construction, and commissioning experience in the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical Industry.
Strong knowledge of Instrumentation, Automation & ELV Systems.
Excellent project management, engineering, and supervisory skills preferred.
Fluent in English, with strong presentation, lobbying, and influencing skills.
Proficient in MS Office (including MS Project) and instrumentation design/application software (InTOOLS, MATLAB, CV Calculation, etc.).
Strong team player, capable of working with a broad range of external parties.
Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work under tight schedules with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
